Submission Process

The Bulletin of Economic Geology uses an online submission system. All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through our submission portal.

  2. Complete the submission wizard with article details
  3. Upload your manuscript and supplementary files
  4. Provide author information and suggested reviewers

  6. Pay the submission fee

Manuscript Formatting

General Requirements

  • Double-spaced text throughout
  • 12-point Times New Roman or similar serif font
  • A4 page size with 2.5 cm margins
  • Line numbers on all pages
  • Pages numbered consecutively
  • Maximum file size: 10 MB
  • Accepted formats: PDF, DOC, DOCX

  1. Title page (title, authors, affiliations, keywords)
  2. Abstract (maximum 300 words)
  3. Introduction

Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo rigorous double-blind peer review. The process typically takes 30 days from submission to initial decision.

Suggested Reviewers

Authors must suggest 4 potential reviewers who:

  • Are experts in the relevant field
  • Have no conflicts of interest
  • Are not co-authors or collaborators
  • Are from different institutions than the authors

Publication Fee (if accepted): ₦50,000

Access Fees

Single Article: ₦5,000
Annual Volume: ₦15,000

* All fees are payable via Paystack and are non-refundable.

Publication Ethics

Plagiarism Policy

All submissions are checked for plagiarism. Manuscripts with similarity scores above 20% will be rejected.

Authorship

  • All authors must have made substantial contributions to the work
  • All authors must approve the final manuscript
  • Changes to authorship after submission require written consent from all authors

Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the work.

Data Availability

Authors should be prepared to share research data upon reasonable request, unless legally restricted or ethically inappropriate.
