Governance & Constitution

NSEG operates under a well-defined constitution that guides our mission, membership, and professional standards as a specialist group of NMGS.

Aims & Objectives

  • Advance the science and practice of economic geology in Nigeria through research, education, and collaboration.
  • Promote sustainable mineral exploration and mining practices that benefit Nigeria's economy and environment.
  • Foster professional development and networking among economic geologists across Nigeria and internationally.
  • Publish scholarly journals and organize conferences that contribute to the body of geological knowledge.
  • Advise government agencies and the private sector on matters related to economic geology and mineral resources.

Code of Conduct

  • Members shall uphold professional integrity and ethical standards in all geological practice and research.
  • Members must remain in good standing by paying annual dues and adhering to NSEG's constitution and bylaws.
  • All members shall promote environmental responsibility and sustainable resource management practices.
  • The Executive Committee is elected by members and serves a defined term as stipulated in the NSEG constitution.
  • Disputes shall be resolved through the established channels outlined in the NSEG constitution and bylaws.
